About Tait Collins Inc.
Our History
It was in 1995 that Tait Collins Inc. began publishing a leisure-oriented niche newspaper entitled The Great Toronto Getaway. At the time, it was just an idea.
The newspapers were first distributed in the Buffalo suburbs in New York state, and from the very first edition, the concept of publishing and distributing a newspaper with timely, informative and educational information about everything there is to see and do in Toronto was an immediate hit. And since then, Tait Collins Inc. has become a considerable influence in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.
The newspaper group developed and expanded and became so successful that Metroland Newspapers, a division of the Toronto Star owned by Torstar Inc., purchased the Getaway group of newspapers in November 2007.
